Second Passage of the Rain Moon
Emperor Stays Offshore
There is little more to report on the situation in Jedda Felsuin. The Emperor’s ships have gathered along Mymé’s northern shore in a great fleet, and are apparently awaiting direct orders from the Emperor. No word has reached us regarding the situation on the Empress’ isle.
"The losses suffered on both sides have been significant," says Iridai, our sage who is keeping up with Jeddan affairs. "There has to be at least a small thought in the Emperor’s mind of abandoning the attack. Still, he has come quite far, and it wouldn’t surprise me if we saw another attempt. If the Jotai Jo warriors are helping the Empress, however, the Emperor will have a difficult time coming to land. He could attempt to block all ship access to Mymé’s ports, but the island would survive – it is an entire island, after all, and is fully capable of self-sufficiency."
We will, of course, report any news as we receive it.

Man Prepares for Raft Adventure
It is mostly historians who have heard the name of Raladin. They know of him from his journal, a well-preserved treatise housed in the Library of Selarum. His journal relates how the first Masallan settlers on the Old World (then called New Masalla) took one among them, a man named Arian Goddard, to be their ruler. And how the first King Goddard chose Raladin to journey around the perimeter of the island and map what he found.
Raladin’s adventure spanned two years, during which he spent most of his time on a raft he built on the eleventh day of his adventure. He described the craft in great detail, and used it to journey south around the tip of the Old World, and then followed the shore north, mapping all the bays and inlets.
Now, a man named Sarid intends to re-live Raladin’s exploration.
"Raladin’s journal is full of mysteries – he encountered numerous ruins, peoples, and creatures whose existence has never been verified. His account is so filled with such ‘fictions’ that many people assert he was not even a real person, and that such an adventure would be impossible. I have carefully re-created Raladin’s craft, and will follow the steps of his journey day-by-day. I intend to return to Selarum in two years and prove that what Raladin encountered was, and perhaps still is, real."
His adventure is being funded by numerous contributions, including one by Queen Ennea. Most of the gold will go toward scribing copies of his journal upon his return. If and when he does report back to Selarum, we will inform you!
