Second Passage of the Plowing Moon
Casara Embattled by Sereg
When we last reported on the situation in Casara, the Sereg had infiltrated the city of Vellun. Despite Vellun’s reputation as a rough, frontier holding, it is the principle mining city of Casara, and Casara rushed to its defense, sending a force of a full thousand soldiers, all armed with the finest of Rel Morde blades and expertly trained warhorses.
They stormed the city, and within a passage gained entrance, only to discover that they had fallen into a well-laid trap within the city walls.
It is estimated that less than a hundred soldiers escaped to the south.
What the Sereg will do next is still a mystery.
As Casara reels from the loss of a quarter of its military, the Sereg sit firmly in one of Casara’s largest cities.
Lord Elliot, a noble visiting Aranor from Casara, had only a single comment. "These monsters must be driven from the lands; they should all be killed."
Rumors are afloat that Casara will launch an extensive military campaign against the Sereg, and they hope to have the Sereg forced back into the mountains by spring.

Word from Masalla
Reports have finally arrived back from Masalla in regards to the Eldritch ships that docked on one of Masalla’s large uninhabited isles.
"Masalla sent four battle-ships to determine the nature of the visitors," says Sheridan, an emissary from the islands. "The Eldritch responded with hostility and were destroyed. Whatever the Eldritch were up to, they’ll have to keep at it from the bottom of the sea."
But a sailor visiting the isles, who asked his name not to be used, told us a different story.
"Masalla sent four battle-ships out to find out what was going on and then come home. Well, the vessels didn’t come back. Two days later six more ships were sent. Then I had to leave port on other business, and don’t know what happened after that."
What the Eldritch are doing in Masalla is anyone’s guess, but talk is definitely turning toward the possibility of them ‘working’ on another unearthed Great Wyrm.

Experts Debate the Meaning of the Reality of Great Wyrms
With apparent confirmation of the existence of a Great Wyrm in Moraithe, legends and theories of Carador’s creation are being re-examined.
"It appears," says Laren, an independent sage-adventurer from Jalpa, "that the Great Wyrms have been sleeping for so long that they have been buried under thousands of years’ worth of debris. Why, you could be standing atop one as you read this!"
The presence of an actual example seems to hint that the Great Wyrm legends of the world’s creation might be true.
"It was said that each Great Wyrm created its own island, and forged the nature of the land to its whims. That is why so many lands have so many different creatures, plants, and climates. The question then becomes this – where did they go? Many have suggested that they shape-shifted and were thus absorbed into the blood of their own lands, but perhaps they only went to sleep, dreaming their dreams of the world. It remains for us to see what the Eldritch are doing to the Wyrms – if they are reviving them or slaying them. We clearly must discover their purpose."
