Third Passage of the Dark Moon
Fires on Saravai
Ships sailing the waters of the southern point of the Old World have reported seeing large fires on the island of Saravai. They are of unknown origin, but are likely due to inter-clan warfare between the lycanthropes that inhabit the island. Saravai is the historical exile destination for lycanthropes found on the Old World.
Over the past few years, most sea travel has moved along the northern Old World route, as the southern route is considered more dangerous. Saravai, which was at one time subjected to routine patrols, has been left unattended under Queen Lillian’s reign, except for a few expeditions to discover the state of affairs on the island.
Some fear that the lycanthropes will build a ship and come to the Old World, but thus far there is no real evidence that the diseased people have left the island.
The fires were quite large, but seem to be contained to certain areas of the island.

Erusha Ship Raided
Acting on a tip, the Aranorian guard raided a Jeddan trading ship and discovered eighteen crates of dried Erusha mushrooms. The guard has been attempting to rid the city of the strange drug since it was first encountered earlier this year.
The mushrooms are being burned, but authorities warn that this is not the only supplier in the city – Erusha will still be available. In fact, the raid may compound the problem, making Erusha much more expensive. Although the drug itself is not overly harmful, its highly addictive quality tends to encourage users to commit crimes in order to meet their needs.

Spectacles Back in Style
Perhaps it’s just to ward off the bright sun that we’ve been having lately, but spectacles are suddenly making a re-appearance on the fashion scene. When Spectacle first opened in Aranor, they couldn’t keep enough spectacles in supply. Then the fashion dwindled, and the shoppe was barely making enough to get by. Now they’re having their original problem again, and the shoppe is nearly empty. Special orders are being taken, pay-in-advance.
The trend was likely started by Lady Ashley, the actress who has risen to enormous fame. She recently turned down two offers – one by a theater in Mina’s Quay, Masalla, and another by a theater in Darbasa, Irutoka. Both offers were valued at over a million silver. The actress, constantly wooed by nobles from all lands, has been seen wearing a pair of emerald-lensed spectacles of late, and the idea has quickly spread.
