Second Passage of the Autumn Moon
Whales Visit Aranor
Throngs of citizens flocked to the docks of Aranor last passage as groups of whales swam south along the shore. Never before have whales been sighted so close to Aranor’s docks.
"They were immense!" exclaimed Misha, a barmaid at The Mermaid. "As big as ships!"
Sages tell us that whales often follow certain paths as they swim from place to place during the year. Why they have changed their route to come by Aranor is a mystery.
Some brave souls ventured out in boats or trells to get a closer look, and reported amazing sightings.
The word is out that more groups of whales might follow over the next moon, so keep your eyes open if you’re down by the docks!

Maelmuire and Rilhaven Continue Relations
"Things are going remarkably well," I was told by Lord Cavenon, a native of Rilhaven who is visiting Aranor. "No one thought that Maelmuire and Rilhaven could cooperate, but King Lambrodegh and King Niall are in constant communication and cooperation."
The two provinces are teaming up to eradicate the threat of the Kraeven, and are working diligently to build Rilhaven’s new port.
"Kraeven attacks are almost non-existent", said Cavenon. "They are usually rampant in the autumn. The Maelmuirian scouts and fighters are truly superb."
Despite Lord Cavenon’s enthusiasm, there are still people who don’t like the new allegiance. At least two legions of Rilhaven’s Borderguard have defected, claiming their own territory in the north and refusing contact with either province. Some nobles in the city of Rilhaven have also voiced dissent, and it is believed that a small group is responsible for the murder of three Maelmuirian soldiers who were killed in their sleep last moon.
As for the Maelmuirians, who have more of a sense of loyalty to their leader, there have been no verified crimes, though many have been reported by Rilhaven citizens.

Hole To Lorenai
Liramelle is a city renowned for its anomalies. Now, less than a league from the city proper, some commoners have led sages to investigate a pit in the ground – a pit which seems to travel down forever.
The area has long been a party area for adventurous commoners – and rumors suggest that cults in the city use the hole as a disposal grounds for human sacrifices. Until now, however, no sage has ever seen it.
Aralyn, the sage in question, has used a pulley system to drop a weighted rope over three hundred paces into the hole.
"We don’t know what it is, or where it leads," she says. "But we’re going to find out."
Some sages suggest that there are a few entrances to what are known as the ‘World Caves’ – huge networks of caverns which lead under the oceans. It is certainly possible that this hole is just such an entrance.
