Second Passage of the Harvest Moon
Pirate Showdown
Utilizing tips gained during a raid on another pirate hideout, the Jeddan warships in search of the Kaelen princess launched a surprise attack on a pirate city where the pirate Jaradin was thought to be hiding.
The Jeddan warships launched ballistae and catapults into the docked pirate ships, damaging almost all of them, and the near- invincible Shai-kan warriors stormed the city.
The result was chaos. Reports suggest that Jaradin was indeed in the city, and managed to rally the pirates. This was quite a feat considering pirates are notoriously loathe to engage in serious combat. Jaradin’s private army, consisting of hired men and magicians, tore into the ranks of the Shai-kan, killing numerous warriors. The Shai-kan, for their part, devastated the pirate city, and fire-bombs launched by the Jeddan warships ensured that most of the city was burned.
Jaradin’s magicians, however, utilized potent weather-magic to toss the bay into a frenzy, and forced the Jeddan ships to flee. The remaining Shai-kan were killed or fled, and Jaradin gained at least a partial victory.
More weather-magic forced the Jeddan ships to leave the vicinity, and when they finally returned, the city was abandoned. The chase, apparently, has traveled inland.
Initial reports suggest that Jaradin has the upper hand in the forests, and that the Jeddans are fearing that he will make good his escape.
We’ll report more as it arrives.

Faol Sinks Maelmuirian Scout Ship
The King of Faol has announced an apology to King Lambrodegh of Maelmuire for a Maelmuirian scout ship that was sunk off the coast of Casara last An Tir.
The ship was doing a routine surveillance along the northern and eastern coasts when a Faol warship encountered the craft and fired upon it. The small ship failed to escape the barrage and sunk quickly, killing all on board.
The King of Faol insists that his men did not know how to identify a Maelmuirian craft, due to King Lambrodegh’s secrecy regarding his navy, and feared that the ship was from an unknown land. When the scout ship approached, the Faol warship attacked.
King Lambrodegh has not yet responded to the attack.

Tabat Loose in City
The tabat is a large, reclusive cat native to the jungles of Shavay. This rare creature has black and grey mottling that is often considered quite beautiful. Odd, then, that you might see one in Aranor.
A tabat recently escaped from the enclosures of Lord Ulric, a collector of exotic animals. His home in the River District has long been a destination for sight-seers hoping to glimpse Ulric in his front yard training one of his beasts.
Numerous parties are searching for the cat, which is the size of a small tiger. The creature is not considered overly dangerous, as it flees any disturbance, but the guard is concerned that pets and domesticated animals will fall prey to the creature.
The guard asks anyone seeing a large, strange cat to report the sighting immediately.
