Fourth Passage of the Storm Moon
Winds Tear at Coast of Selarum
"It was terrifying!" said Misa, a witness to the strange winds last An Tir. It was a cloudy day in Selarum, but no one was expecting a storm.
"Then the winds came up all at once," said Misa. "Things were blowing everywhere!"
Trees were uprooted, carriages destroyed, and windows blown out of buildings.
Witnesses said that the winds came in off the sea amidst a churning of frothy water, and broke a ship loose from its moorings. From there the wind shot in to central Selarum, finally seeming to die down before it reached the royal palace.
Few people were injured, and none killed. The Selarum guard is looking into the possibility that the winds were magically generated.

King Niall Begins Construction of Port
Within three years, King Niall hopes that the new port city of Mere Rel will be attracting settlers.
The port is being built almost a league west of the haunted city of Antara, and will serve as the trading port for Rilhaven, as well as a city in its own right. King Niall hopes that this distance will be sufficient to prevent any of the strange occurrences that were previously plaguing Rilhaven’s present small village port.
Over three hundred men from Rilhaven have begun construction, and military troops from Maelmuire are aiding in a cooperative effort to keep the area free from large predators.
Clearing any new area in the New World is a dangerous proposition, due to the rugged and unexplored nature of the New World’s wild lands. Already workers have reported a ‘huge, black, shaggy beast’ roaming the edges of the settlement.
King Niall hopes to open the port for minor trading by spring, and settlers will be offered work-for-land options if they wish to make a new home for themselves.

Phosphorescent Clothes Appear
Clothing that is magically enchanted to ‘glow’ at night is appearing in some of the nicer shoppes in Aranor. The clothing, for both men and women, ranges from brightly glowing to barely-there shimmers.
"This is for people who want to stand out," says Laren, owner of Laren’s Fashions in the Merchant District. "Those who aren’t afraid to be seen."
His statement might border on simplistic, but it is also quite true – the fashion is being embraced by the city’s most flamboyant and famous personages.
"I like being looked at," says Lady Mirage, a well-known socialite and former demi-monde. "When I was younger my cleavage and beauty were enough, but now I need a little something extra."
But young people are in on the trend as well.
"I really can’t afford it, but I’m getting one anyway," said Tessa, who was looking at a dress in Laren’s Fashions. "All my friends are going to think I’m just vicious when I wear it to Twilight."
Others, however, don’t think the fashion is quite so nice.
"This is awful," said Lord Mavik, of the River District. "An affront to the senses. We’re flaunting magic like they did in Antara, and besides – they’re nothing but gaudy."
It is quite a sight, however, to see someone walking down the street with a softly shimmering glow of light around them.
Take an evening stroll in the River District, and you might just be lucky enough to see one – it will be difficult to miss!
