Men's Names                   

Here is a sampling of some male names found in the Old World. This sampling is especially enlightening because influences are represented from Jeddan, Japuran, and Shavay names. The reader should be able to distinguish such influences without much difficulty (Nakoi is a traditional Jeddan name, while Lorakai is an Old World/Jeddan blend. Kur is a traditional Shavay, while Savaien is an Old World/Shavay blend. And Maraad is a traditional Japuran name, while Lakaan is an Old World Japuran blend.) It is not unusual to find traditional foreign names used for modern Old World-born men. The ‘aan’, ‘aad’, and ‘aar, arre’ suffixes, as well as common variants, are part of a trend begun about two generations ago which continues today.
