Scribing Grimoires

Scribing grimoires is a patient task. Only spells which are personally known and practiced may be scribed by a magician, and it is most often done according to a traditional form, with specific words, phrases and context utilized unerringly. The words must be written down while the magician is in a certain meditative mindset, and the skills necessary are commonly not gained until an adept is of a high level of proficiency (6th rank or above). Scribing a spell takes about sixteen hours of writing for an invocative spell, and twenty-four hours of writing for a substance spell. (Figure eight hours of scribing a day for the most dedicated of scribes, with four being what the average person can tolerate).
