Many demons (creatures from Lorenai) prey on humans, either upon our blood or our desires, minds, or wills. Because many can appear like us, they make dangerous predators, utilizing cunning, seduction, and trickery to gain their sustenance.
The Lesser, Higher and Greater Daemereth have additional powers, which will be explained at the heading of each group.
STs should remember that there is great individual variety within these creatures, so much liberty should be used in encounters. Most demons, unless stated otherwise, have an enticing human appearance, with exotic eyes and 'come hither' looks. See the Tome of Shadows for more information.
All Daemereth, in seeking prey, will choose high vitality people over low vitality people, excepting the Saeoman, who look for a high Willpower score, and Samen, who feed off of sanity. Furthermore, in addition to their normal method of feeding, all Daemereth can drink the blood of humans. Such blood drinking will drain a victim of 1 Damage Point per quint. The victim must be willing or bound, as it cannot be used as an attack.
Abberations are not listed because of the extreme variability implied by that heading. Creatures of this type can be simple crosses between two or more demon types, possessing all or some of each type’s abilities, or they can be odd animal/demonic crosses of almost any size, ability, and appearance. The ST should use liberal creativity in their creation.

Diamont

Lotos

Appearance and Description - The incarnations of beauty, these creatures are found in all places in Lorenai, though they tend to frequent the higher courts. Their beauty is beyond imagining, so they seldom have to fight. *
Citah

Appearance and Description - The incarnations of agility and dexterity, these creatures are lithe, quick, and graceful to the highest degree. They sometimes hold positions of power, but more often serve as hunters or guards for higher demons. *
Almethe

Appearance and Description - The incarnations of spontaneity and release, these creatures are seldom seen outside of Lorenai, where they spend most of their time in debauchery. They will flee before they fight. *
Higher Incarnations
These creatures often possess demonic magics or higher learning, and may command some lower demons. They can travel
astrally so as to visit Carador, but usually only the Koth do this.
Koth

Appearance and Description - The Koth are the incarnations of greed, and collect great stores of treasures. Often they will travel to Carador for just this purpose,
because Caradorian 'imports' are quite popular in Lorenai. They come in a wide range of personalities, but all are consumed with the desire to possess goods. *
Serneré

Appearance and Description - These demons are the incarnations of perception, and have large, usually dark eyes that reflect light. They are peaceful and reclusive, and are not usually seen except in the lonely wildernesses of Lorenai. *
Greater Incarnation
There is but one type of demon in this category. They can travel astrally, and thus come to Carador if they desire. Most utilize powerful magics of strange kinds. They also have the ability to shapeshift into any human form they desire.
Mallun

Appearance and Description - The Mallun are the incarnations of knowledge and wisdom, and spend their lives in learning. If befriended, they are the most interesting of conversationalists, but most of them walk among us unseen. *
Lesser Daemereth
The lesser daemereth feed off of humans, and need them for sustenance. They can enter the astral, and thus can reach Carador where they seek their prey.
Elyavor

Appearance and Description - These demons feed off the vitality of humans. The Elyavor need only be standing near a person to feed, and can drain one Endurance point per minute using this method. If actual contact is made, the creature can drain 1 Endurance every quint. A person who loses all of their Endurance will fall unconscious. This Endurance will be regained at the rate of 4 points per day. Elyavor will usually try to feed from nearby,
preferring not to be discovered. The victim will only feel a tired, sleepy feeling. *
Esmonay

Appearance and Description - The Esmonay feeds off of emotion, and will attempt to befriend a person and then make their lives as emotionally chaotic as possible. The victim will suffer no other ill effects. *
Draur-Tom

Appearance and Description - These fragile-looking creatures enter a victim's dreams and adventure with them in the dream realm. The victim must only be seen by the Draur-Tom, and no other contact must be made. The victim will then begin to have incredibly vivid dreams where they meet with the same person (the Draur-Tom) every night to adventure in the dream realm. Each night of such activity will drain the victim of 20 Endurance points. When a victim becomes overly weak (0 Endurance), the Draur-Tom will leave and let them regain strength, but will sometimes return at a later time for more
adventures. Endurance points will be regained at five points per day.*
Higher Daemereth
The higher daemereth are usually powerful in Lorenai, holding high positions. They can travel into the astral (and thus to Carador), and can change their shape to any human form they desire.
Kaena

Appearance and Description - The Kaena feed off of human pain, and are experts at torture. They will attempt to seduce and capture a human, and then feed off of their pain. Black-haired Kaena are known for enjoying death-agonies, while the red-haired Kaena seem to prefer torture and prolonged agony. The Black Kaena, then, will usually kill and dispose of a victim, while the red will leave them half-insane and bleeding, unless they fear discovery, in which case they will usually kill their victims. *
Saeoman

Appearance and Description - These demons feed off of humans'
willpower, and will attempt to befriend a human and then lure them into behavior
the victim usually wouldn't engage in. As the human begins to accept the lures, they will lose 1
Willpower point per day of association with the Saeoman, until they have reached a
Will of 0, in which case they are often taken to Lorenai as slaves for other demon types. If a Saeoman leaves a drained victim, they will regain their willpower at the rate of 1 point per day. *
Succubi/Incubi

Appearance and Description - The incubus is the male variety, the succubus the female. Both of these creatures feed off of human sexuality. They will attempt to seduce a human, and any sexual contact will drain the human of 1 vitality point per minute. If 0 is reached, the human is dead. These creatures seem to prefer to kill their lovers.
If not killed, victims will recover at the rate of 1 vitality point per day. *
Alaya-Tol

Appearance and Description - The Alaya-Tol are 'people collectors', and attempt to woo desirable individuals and get them to fall in love with the demon. The demon will then invite them to come to his or her 'lands' (Lorenai), where they will usually have a large house, palace, or even a holding or city where they keep their lovers. They will lure with promises of a wonderful life of luxury, but once they have collected someone the person will often be neglected as the Alaya-Tol goes searching for new and exciting loves. *
Coregg

Appearance and Description - Coregg feed off of human conflict, and will attempt to create discord among humans wherever they go. Arguments, fights, wars -- all feed this creature, who does no harm saving that caused by
his or her manipulations. *
Samen

Appearance and Description - The fearsome Samen feed off of sanity. They require close association, and will thus attempt to befriend or enter into a romance with a human, who will slowly begin to deteriorate at the rate of 1 Willpower point per day. When the victim reaches 1/2 of their Willpower, they will begin to go insane, experiencing discordant or false memories, hallucinations, and delusions of all kinds. If a Samen ceases to feed, the victim will regain Willpower at the rate of 1 point per day, but will not regain sanity until half of his or her points are regained. A Samen cannot drain a victim beyond 1 point of Willpower. *
Greater Daemereth
The greater daemereth are very potent indeed, for they are not only able to move into the astral and Carador and shift their shape to any human form, but can shift to animal forms as well, and in the case of the Arius, even inanimate forms.
Seula

Appearance and Description - The Seula is greatly feared by humans, and greatly disliked by other demons, because it 'ruins' human slaves. This is because
a human never recovers from the predations of these creatures. Seula feed off of human souls, and do so by direct, intimate contact. Each
minute spent in intimate contact with one of these creatures will drain the
victim of one Vitality point. These points will not heal or return with any amount of time, and are lost forever.
A human who is totally drained becomes a Wraithe. *
Arius

Appearance and Description - The potent Arius can assume any shape, and often will take the shape of a ring or medallion which it hopes will be picked up by its prey. Arius only prey on mages and majae, and do so by 'eating' spells - the mage or majae will simply find that their spell fails to work, while the Arius absorbs the magical energy. The Arius can save such spells within it (though they are consumed over time), and so an Arius will often possess any number of randomly determined Caradorian spells which it can cast
at the rate of one per quint. Arius are even more dangerous because they need not be near a victim to 'eat' spells- indeed, they can be up to 40' away. But because they tend toward being a bit lazy, an Arius will usually attempt to fix itself upon the person of its victim. Because they are difficult to detect and powerful in their own right, an Arius can be a
tricky thing to get rid of. *
