Appearances

Back to Race

Most Caradorians (but not all) are somewhat concerned with their appearance – how well you tend to your cleanliness is considered a reflection of your inner self in most societies. Thus most Caradorians are of a pleasant appearance, but that doesn’t mean that there are not those scarred in battle or bearing rough or ill-kempt appearances.

Skin comes in a variety of tones, and will already have been somewhat established when you chose a race. If you are of the Old or New World, you’ll have to choose a hair color, eye color, and style.

Many men wear their hair long, except for those who would find this a hindrance, such as smiths and some warriors. The current style throughout the lands is to be clean-shaven, except in the New World, where beards and mustaches seem constantly in vogue.  Some avant-garde noblemen are also beginning to wear well-trimmed beards and mustaches.  In general, however, facial hair is usually a mark of lower class, wherever one travels.

Women wear their hair equally short or long, with no style being dominant at present.

You must also consider your build – if you’re a man, are you going to be tall, short, broad, lithe, athletic, thin? If a woman -- svelte, buxom, athletic, or willowy?

Then consider beauty. If you wish to be beautiful, you’ll tend to get more approaches and more polarized reactions from people than if you’re more plainly made.

Lastly, consider dress. Do you tend to follow the styles, dress simply, or go for the sophisticated look? Your dress will do much to mark you in people’s minds.

Remember your appearance.  You don't have to write it on your Character Sheet, but you will be determining your Attractiveness statistic later on, and that will go on your sheet.  For right now, just remember your appearance and you're ready to move on.

Next, go to determine your Age.
