Kenton and Rebecca Whitman are aspiring authors who live in the  Upper Midwest. Carador was first created from our unique role-playing system, which gave us direct access to a world that has grown over ten years of role-playing and writing. From disorganized file cabinets and piles of folders, this site was at last created. The vision of Caradorian novels followed easily out of the creation of the world itself – being intimately familiar with the lands, cultures, and attitudes of Carador, we could concentrate on stepping into the lives of ordinary Caradorians who were about to experience extraordinary adventures.

We prefer to call our writing ‘dramatic fantasy’, for it is not concerned with ‘black vs. white’ so much as with sweeping the reader into the lives of the characters – characters who we can relate to in their victories and sorrows precisely because they are not archetypal.

Our writing is inspired by many facets of our lives, from the fascinating people we know to our other interests and explorations.

Rebecca Whitman teaches Middle Eastern dance, loves gardening and animals, is an artist and poet, and now designs web sites!

Kenton Whitman teaches his own system of martial arts, practices low impact wilderness survival, and loves cooking and writing.

We also keep snakes.

When writing, we typically think in ‘scenes’. A walk will serve as the cook-pot for an exchange of ideas, and the next scene is formed in basic outline. Kenton then writes the scene, and Rebecca follows with editing for content, structure, and grammar.

A final little message for all of our fellow aspiring authors out there – follow your dream! We’ve had plenty of rejection letters from past attempts at getting published, and know that it can sometimes be difficult to keep giving your all with only a dream to sustain you. But keep learning, keep writing, and never give up. How much better to look back at your life and know that you really tried, instead of wondering what might have happened if you did.

This, of course, applies to whatever dreams you might have.

Good Luck!
