Forged two years after the Founding of Aranor, Illumination is a group with a grand vision – to further the growth of the Renaissance by virtue of spreading wisdom and knowledge, a currency long denied to the common folk under the Goddard Reign.
Founded by Kenton and Rebecca Whitman, the group consists of twelve members, each of whom is in charge of covering different aspects of the world.
It all begins with research. Reading in dusty old libraries, speaking with experts in their fields, and getting first-person experience, the writers then distill the knowledge into treatises or tomes.
The Tomes are being scribed and sold all over the New and Old Worlds, and new treatises are always being written. In fact, if you visit the Library, you'll find at least one new Treatise every two passages (that's every fourteen days).
Almost all the Tomes and Treatises are written by one of the members of Illumination. Here are the members --
Shavira and Tavaan will be giving reviews of restaurants and taverns and such, as well as commenting on the latest fads and fashions.
Melantha contributes treatises on all manner of darker magics and creatures, such as those things found in the Tome of Shadows.
Lord Anthony Marsaela writes on all manners of politics, and is intimately familiar with a number of different provinces.
Brant LaDorn is our historian, and is well-versed in the histories of numerous lands, while Serik is our scribe. He turns our scribblings into beautiful sheets of parchment ready to be bound into books.
Lidellia is a potent majae, and tells us of most anything having to do with magical practice, while Lady Emily serves as our general sage. She is young, but broadly intelligent and there are few subjects about which she has nothing to say.
Aradell is our fighter – he has taught and researched fighting styles, both armed and unarmed, from around the world. And Rajaad, when not out adventuring, enlightens us about his profession and all aspects of travel and exploration.
Finally, Kenton and Rebecca speak with visitors to their home near Neraha, and then scribe down the true tales they hear. They also keep a keen eye out for old journals, which they edit into incredible tales.
Together, we hope to bring you not only enlightenment, but some entertainment as well. We’ll be writing on just about everything you could imagine at sometime in the future – you’ll find everything from recipes to harrowing tales presented in the Library. Enjoy!
